Dolmabahce Palace: About three centuries ago there was a broad bay whose waters sheltered many ships in the place now occupied by Dolmabahce Palace. Halfway between a Moorish castle, a Baroque Italian palazzo and a Hindu temple, the Dolmabahce Palace was built from marble. The interior is more than lavish, glittering with gold and marble, crystal alabaster and porphyry.
